WEEK 5.LAB: REWORKING PROJECT PLANS
During our lab period this week, we made some final decisions on what would need to be 3D-printed and what would need to be purchased or built. After discussing the specifics of our system with Professor Boettcher, we decided that it would be most practical to purchase a reservoir tank, set-volume chamber, and tiered stand and to 3D-print only our system's watering ring component. We decided on printing the watering ring because in doing so we enabled ourselves to create a more effective and unique ring than we would have been able to purchase (Figure 1). We created a Creo sketch for the ring during lab. Our model contains two tiers of staggered holes, allowing water to spread and flow evenly throughout the ring.
