WEEK 5.2: ELECTRICAL NETWORK(ING)

On Thursday after lab, we went to meet up with Steven's friend, Calvin (figure 1), who possesses an extensive knowledge on all things involving electrical networks and circuitry. We showed him our valves and asked him what he thought would be the best way to go about creating an electrical network that would operate the valves. He suggested the use of a microcomputer to program a time interval-based script and told us that since the solenoid valves require 12V to be opened, we will need an outside power source incorporated into our network. Next time we meet up with him, we are going to place orders for everything we'll need in building the electrical network for our final product and, once those components arrive, he will teach us how to build an electrical network.
